FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO PARK AT THE CLASS VENUE'S?

Yes there is ample parking outside of the community centre & the church hall & its free! Yay!

DO I HAVE TO BRING ANY EQUIPMENT WITH ME?

All equipment will be provided. However if you have your own mat please do bring it as I have a limited amount to spare. For Pregnancy yoga pls bring a cushion or pillow with you for extra comfort.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

A lycra suit! Only kidding (unless you really want to, there is no judgement in my class!) It is advisable to wear either comfortable loose fitting clothes or stretchy sports leggings. Your clothing should allow you to be able to stretch & move freely without restriction.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BRING?

Apart from your lovely self, please bring a bottle of water to keep you hydrated throughout the practice. You may also like to bring a blanket for the relaxation part of the class. This is optional but when the  body relaxes our temperature drops so it is advisable for your comfort to have warm clothing or a blanket.

ARE THERE CHANGING FACILITIES AT THE CLASS VENUE?

Unfortunately not so pls come in your suitable yogi outfit. There are however rest rooms so if need be you could do a quick change in the cubicle a la Superman/ woman.

SHOULD I TAKE WATER BREAKS DURING THE CLASS?

Absolutely! Yoga is about listening to the body so if its telling you its thirsty then hydrate yogi! Your muscles also perform better when hydrated so another good reason to get that H2O inside of you!

WHY SHOULD I GO TO YOGA RATHER THAN SWEAT IT OUT AT THE GYM?

Because the gym is probably busy & you will have to wait ages to get on the machine you want! Honestly the gym is great, so if that's your thing keep at it, there are many wonderful benefits of weight training. I would suggest adding yoga to your routine as a complimentary practice to help increase endurance & improve posture & flexibility as well as assisting in muscle recovery. Not to mention the inner tranquility & mental space that will come from a regular practice. Win, win!

CAN I PRACTISE YOGA WITH AN INJURY OR MEDICAL CONDITION?

If you have recently had an operation then you will need to be signed off by your doctor. If you have been signed off following an op, or if you have an injury or any other limitations then yes by all means come along pls just notify me of any challenges you have so I can modify any postures for you to make sure you get the most out of the class. I would also request that you listen to your own body throughout the class to prevent any further risk of injury.

CAN I PRACTICE YOGA IF I AM PREGNANT OR HAVE RECENTLY HAD A BABY?

I am a fully qualified pre & post natal yoga teacher & run pregnancy classes. The pregnancy class is appropriate after hitting the 12 wk milestone. Pls review the classes page for further info.
If you are post natal, I can offer you 1-1 classes from 12 wks after the birth of your baby, I would not recommend rejoining a regular group class until you are at least 6 months postpartum.
